Hammersmith – hugely diverse and well connected

Hammersmith is an urban centre in the centre of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, which is bordered by Shepherd’s Bush, Kensington, Fulham and Chiswick. With its one of the few places where affordable homes can still be purchased with close proximity to central London.

As one of London’s key transport hubs, commercial and employment centres, and home to several multinational company offices, Hammersmith is a bustling cosmopolitan area with a prestigious arts scene rivalling that of the West End.

Hammersmith has a variety of housing accommodation from charming two-bedroom cottages to larger Victorian homes, stylish one-bedroom flats to grand detached villas. The area is becoming as popular due to families being able to upscale for relatively lower prices than neighbouring areas. One of the most endearing features of Hammersmith is its long river frontage, which is extremely popular with the locals for leisurely pursuits and also attracts many into the trendy bars and restaurants that line the riverbank.

Hammersmith diversity means you can experience something entirely different in each corner of the area. The redevelopment of the Broadway Centre provides the area with a good range of shops, as does the King’s Mall. For those wanting to sample some culture, the Lyric Theatre and Riverside Studios consistently stage good quality dance and drama productions as does the renowned Hammersmith Apollo. The area also serves up plenty of dining options with gastro pubs and restaurants. A walk along King Street will have you sampling cuisines from around the world.

There are no shortage of transport links, with buses from the hub serving the majority of London, two underground lines and Heathrow within easy reach via the M4.
