Knightsbridge property – one of the world’s “Ultra Prime Residential Areas”.

Knightsbridge and Hyde Park

The Knightsbridge property market attracts considerable international attention and is viewed as one of the world’s “Ultra Prime Residential Areas”. Our property search agents can present property of varying size from highly appointed one bedroom flats to 10 bedroom mansions for discerning buyers and investors.

The area includes some of the capitals most popular addresses including Chester Square, Egerton Crescent, Pelham Crescent, Thurloe Square, both Cadogan Square and Cadogan Place, and all of the Chelsea garden square, as well as the riverside addresses such as Cheyne Walk. Most properties offered in the area are refurbished flats and houses, many of which have the addition of huge basements, accommodating a range of facilities from swimming pools to family entertainment rooms.

Some properties may be either freehold or leasehold with varying lengths of lease as much of property is owned by the areas principal landowners, the Grosvenor Estate and the Cadogan Estate, owned by the Duke of Westminster and Earl Cadogan respectively. The two areas of aristocratic landholdings can be distinguished: red-brick Queen Anne Revival buildings are mostly to be found on the Cadogan Estates, whereas white stucco-fronted houses are mostly found on the Grosvenor Estate, built by Thomas Cubitt.

Knightsbridge has an abundance of green open space as the district is adjacent to inner London’s largest public park, Hyde Park. Hidden beyond the fashionable shopping areas is an exclusive village-like community with cosy pubs tucked away throughout the district.

Knightsbridge is home to many upmarket shops, including the department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols, and flagship stores of many British and international fashion houses, including those of London-based shoe designers Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. The district also has banks that cater for rich individuals (including Coutts, bankers to the Queen), some of London’s most renowned restaurants are here including Claridges and a choice of renowned Museums.

The district is well served by public transport. Many local buses service the area and the Underground network has stations at Knightsbridge, South Kensington, Hyde Park Corner and Sloane Square, all of which provide easy access to Westminster, the City, the West End and central London.
